This year is the first time I have been involved in this amazing initiative. This not-for-profit organisation runs this annual art show to raise funds to support Australian artists. This year, funds will go to support both Studio A and We Are Studios, organisations that provide professional development opportunities for artists living with disability.
All the artworks donated are done so anonymously, so when buyers enter the gallery space (in Sydney) all they see is a sea of A5 sized artworks with no identifying signatures or names. How exciting is that? Fancy buying artworks because you like them or they speak to you rather than because of who made it? Once you buy an artwork, the artist is revealed to you!
The last time I looked on the website, 2 of my works had sold! I’m chuffed that someone liked it enough to buy it, but also to know that all the money is going to such a worthwhile cause. Yay Incognito Art Show!! What a wonderful initiative!!
